Other information

Dancing friends Inc was formed in early 2019 with a view to running a dance weekend in the Ballarat Area and set our statement of purpose: “To promote Physical and Mental health, Fun, Friendship and Enjoyment for the Dancing Public in Ballarat and surrounding areas.” We ran a successful autumn Dance weekend in early March 2019 at the Invermay Hall, from which we donated to three charitable organizations a total of $1,000.00. Our involvement with the Brown Hill Hall came about after a request from the Wendouree Dance Club (who were closing down) for us to carry on their established dance night formats and provide continued entertainment to the dancing regulars they had served over the past 26 years. We have accepted the challenge and are working towards running sequence dance programs to suit all skill levels with the use of 2 dance circles for each bracket of dance music. Our dance routines include Rumbas, Tangos, Jives, Mambos, Sambas, Swings, Saunters, Quicksteps, 2 steps, Foxtrots, Blues, Cha Chas, Modern Waltz and New Vogue Waltz (Australian dances are all New Vogue - Old Time Ballroom). Our Music is provided through the use of high quality CD’S. If anyone would like to come along and join in or have a look at proceedings then you are welcome, no charge - Monday evenings from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm (normally $5). On Saturday evening ($8.00) Aug 24th 2019 we will be presenting a cheque to representatives from the Invermay CFA to help them fit out their new Fire Truck.
